Alrighty, I said I was going to start this blog /writing again and so here I am. I also said I was going to link up on some of my favorite bloggers on my favorite posts to help me as a bit of a writing prompt.
One of my favorite bloggers is Steph and she does a great blog post every Monday The Weekend that was or TWTW so I figured I would use it as a writing prompt because I would end up commenting on her post all about my weekend and I felt like I was hijacking her blog a little. I hope I linked up correctly I am not trying to steal anything I am going to look now if she says we should link up.
I'm back I think I can I just won't call it the weekend that was.
My weekend started early on Friday. I work in a school district and we had an early release you would think that means I was out very early but no. I have a second job and that is as a nanny/babysitter after school. So I picked up the boys from the bus and I started my second job. However, their mom came home early and it made me very excited because I did not get a lunch that day and I wasn't feeling well anyway.
So Friday night even though I had plans to go see Cinderella at the high school, I came home and just crashed. It was a rough week even though we had 2 snow days and 2 early release days. That many changes in the routine is tough on anyone but especially students.
Saturday morning was lazy because I still had a touch of this weird stomach thing. I very much wanted to go snowshoeing at our local park but I wasn't 100% sure I could make it off the couch. It was at that moment that I decided to start a new blog. Every stinking name was taken and I started to get kind of "fresh" with my blog address but scared that it would actually take or be "available" so I came up with the one I have now and will explain the story behind it another time.
My husband suggested we hit the cheap movies because I needed out of the house but even if we had to leave we wouldn't be out a whole lot of money. So we saw SING there were only 6 other people in the whole theater and that was nice as well.
Saturday night meant a Boy Scout district dinner with my husband in past years the dinner has been about 30 minutes away. No big deal but this year literally right up the road it took us 2 minutes!! We could have walked if it wasn't going to snow later on while we were getting out. During the dinner, they had door prizes. I jokingly whispered to my husband that the Emcee (who is a good friend of ours) needed to shake up the container with the tickets but I whispered as soon as it got dead silent. So he heard me and called me up to do a "better job" haha. The meal was delicious and it was actually a quick dinner with very minimal speeches and awards.
Sunday morning was church and my husband's first deacon experience. Our worship service was amazing they invited someone from our local Mosque to speak about Islam. We read scripture from the bible and he read a similar passage from the Quran. Then after worship, it was the Chili Challenge and a very very long meeting about Christian Education.
Sunday Night was the regular ol' Sunday Night Blues and laundry. We made the menu for the week I mentally prepped for the week. My husband and I called it an early night falling asleep before 9:30,
So that's my weekend not very exciting and hopfully I will continue to blog away .
Your church sounds awesome! How great of them to invite that speaker.
